Become a Hands of the Donor Partner
We want you to make blood donation a way of life, and we’ll reward you for it. By donating once a quarter you become a Hands of the Donor Partner. Your partnership comes with many perks, like free items from our online store and tickets to our awards events.
But the biggest benefit is to your community. Most people don’t know that up to two lives can be saved every time you donate blood. Give once a quarter for a year and you can save up to eight lives. Life is in your hands.
Personalized In Your Hands Membership Card
As a Hands of the Donor partner you will receive a personalized membership card with information on your blood type and space to keep track of wellness check information.
When you donate you will receive a complimentary wellness check to ensure that you are healthy enough to donate blood. This includes checking your temperature, blood pressure, pulse, hemoglobin/iron level, and blood typing.
Access to My Handprint
My Handprint is a secure, online service that The Blood Center offers to help you keep track of your donations, eligibility dates, and program points. It is also a way for you to access Life is in Your Hands program benefits, such as shopping at the High-5 Online Store and online appointment scheduling.

Scheduling or changing your next blood donation appointment is in your hands with online scheduling.
Bonus Points
Sign up as a Hands of the Donor Partner and donate blood once a quarter to receive additional bonus points as you reach each level. Your reward is in your hands when you redeem your points at the High-5 Online Store.
Watch our calendar for special Give Us A Hand Days when your blood donation will earn you special bonus points. Though this is another benefit of being a Hands of the Donor Partner, it is also a way for The Blood Center of Central Texas to say thanks for helping save lives in our community.

Access to High-5 Online Store is another great benefit of your Life is in Your Hands partnership. Each donation you make earns points which can be redeemed for items from the online store like shirts, backpacks, chairs, and much more.
Blood Assurance Program
The Blood Center of Central Texas presents each donor or group hosting a blood drive with a blood donation coupon for each successful blood donation.These coupons, can be redeemed by patients for a limited financial reimbursement to help cover blood service fees. Payments go directly to the patients for un-reimbursed blood fee expenses rather than to the hospital or specialty treatment facility where the transfusion(s) took place.
Blood Assurance Program Details

The blood donation coupons expire six months from the date of donation.

The amount of reimbursement is strictly limited to blood fees which are not covered by insurance or another third party payer (not administration or cross matching charges).

The reimbursement value of each blood donation coupon is $10.00.

The limit of reimbursement is $5,000 per patient per calendar year.

The patient (or patient’s family) receiving the coupon is responsible for presenting a claim to the Center for reimbursement of blood fees,along with the blood donation coupon(s) and the required documentation of charges.
Blood Donation Coupons are given to individual or group blood donors and can be donated to others to help cover blood costs not paid for by insurance (one coupon per donation).
eNews
Partners who reach any level in the Hands of the Donor program receive our eNews. The eNews features stories about recipients, recognizes donors, promotes upcoming events and more–all ways to help spread the word.

Partners who reach Level 3 in the Life is in Your Hands program are recognized on our Web site at www.inyourhands.org.
Two Invitations to our annual Heroes for Life celebration
Once you reach the Level 4 as a Hands of the Donor Partner, you are invited to bring a guest to The Blood Center’s Heroes for Life celebration. At the event, all Level 4 Partners will be recognized. The celebration is another way to say thank you for all you do to help your community.
